Joe Biden is not Barack Obama. But he’s trying to distract the people with representation politics, just like Obama did. Obama didn’t have to do anything to distract us. He was Black. Our excitement about having a Black president was distraction enough.

Biden is trying to play the same hand in his administration by hiring and appointing people with right-wing leanings or allegiance to corporate or wealthy elites. In a recent tweet Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor calls it “The dangerous game of representation…”

I saw that Biden announced that he will have an all female senior communications team. Seriously? You already played that card. The I-will-hire-women! card. That was Kamala. We’re glad you’re giving women jobs and not just sniffing their hair, but you need to keep your campaign promises. Which has not been looking very probable with many of your cabinet picks, who represent the corporate elite. MAKE CHANGES THAT WILL IMPROVE THE LIVES OF WOMEN AROUND THE WORLD. Like a massive stimulus that will provide economic relief for COVID. Or better yet, a fossil-free Green New Deal.
