For so many of us Black people, it is simultaneously heartening, disorienting, enraging and profound to have a current uprising on behalf of our lives, even as interpersonal emotional dynamics continue to play out. This is my experience early on in the process of finding my own way to what I needed to tell people in my life and the world.

I have continued to struggle to find my place in this movement. Recently, I had a breakthrough and am co-organizing a series of protests for young people. FREEDOM FRIDAYS: A Family Walk & Chalk for Black Lives starts this week.
